Life Is a Battle Ground

Life is a battle ground. No soldier goes to the battle front in pyjamas but with armour and other equipment of war. Life is like running a hundred meter race in the Olympic games. No athlete goes to the track with flowing babariga rather he trains up and dresses up for the race. Many people have a wrong approach to life, they blame someone else for their faults and failure.

There was a time in my life when i used to cried every night and blamed some set of people for my problems.  my situation  did not changed  until I started taking responsibility for my life. Human beings generally don’t want to take responsibility for their faults or failures.  Successful  people are those who learnt to take both the credit and the blame for everything that happens in their lives. If you don’t believe that you are responsible for creating your failures and successes, then you will just accept things as they come.

Nobody is responsible for your world. You may be born blind or lame. You may not have control over that. But you do have control over the kind of world you live in.

The astounding story of Wendy will definitely thrill anyone. She placed third, just two- and – half points from first, in the Iowa girls’s state diving championships. At the University of Florida, she earned the number two position on the varsity diving team. She was aiming for the national finals. Wendy carried a full academic load, found time for bowling, and was on accomplished water- skier. The most remarkable thing about Wendy was her typing. She made 45 wpm (word per minute) on her keyboard with her toes.

What is so astounding about her ? You might ask. Well, Wendy was born without arms! How did she make it then ? She quit sorry for herself. She refused to offer her situation as  an excuse to become a begger. She possessed the spirit of a winner. Winner do not look for excuses. They simply act and win, you too can be a winner no matter your situation.

How To Overcome Fear Of Failure

There are no risk- free plans in life. Life is all about risks. Risks are challenges to meet, not excuses for quiting. The fear of failure is one of the things that stop people from taking risks. To make progress in life fear must be  overcome. Rather than allowing fear to stop you, let it be your motivation for adequate preparation for success. History reveals that all successful athletes channel the fear of losing into their preparation for victory.

Robert Schuller wrote, The losers are those who never dared to try because they were afraid they wouldn’t make it. Most people fail because they haven’t tried. And they haven’t tried because they don’t want to run the risk of being disappointed. Those who try have already succeeded in a very important area of life, for they have conquered the fear of failure. No risks, no reward. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The security of the shore is not what a ship is built for. A  ship is built for the risk of the deep.

Fear cripples. You cannot afford to be cripple in life. Playing safe could be dangerous, you will do things wrong many times before you learn to do them right. But if you let that stop you, you’ll never do anything significant in life.  When you make mistakes, you should learn from your mistakes and forge ahead.  The more mistakes you make, the more you learn, the more you learn, the more you earn. Such is life.

Setbacks Are Normal Occurrences In Life’s Pursuits.

Setbacks are normal occurrences in life’s pursuits. They shouldn’t grind you to a halt. Zane Grey wrote, ‘These are the tests of greatness to bear up under loss, to fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief, to be a victor over anger, to smile when tears are close, to  resist disease and evil men and base instints, to hate hate and to love love, to go on when it would seem good to die, to seek ever the glory and the dream, to look up with unquenchable faith to something even more about to be. These things any can do to be great’.

One of the greatest human qualities is that of becoming unstoppable! How do you become unstoppable? Simply by refusing to quit, no matter what happens. The ideas is to resolve to turn every stumbling block into a stepping stone. Abraham Lincoln said, ‘Success is going from failure to failure, without losing your enthusiasm.’

Lincoln’s life exemplifies this great principle. He went from failure to failure, yet he refused to lose his enthusiasism until he finally won. He failed in business in 1831; lost a legislative election in 1832; lost his wife in 1835; suffered a nervous breakdown in 1836; and was defeated in two other elections in 1838 and 1840. In 1843 and 1848, Lincoln failed to win a slot in congress. He lost another election into the senate in 1850. In 1856, he lost the election that would made him the vice president of the United States.

Inspite of all these, Abraham Lincoln still was undaunted and unperturbed. He kept up his enthusiasism and kept on fighting. He contested eletion for presidency of the United States in 1860 and won. He became one of the best Presidents  America ever had. Marva Collins said, Determination and perseverance move the world; thinking that someone else will do it for you is a sure way to fail

To succeed in life, once you have started from the scratch, you must keep on scratching, no matter what. Don’t ever give up or stop.

If You Want To Succeed You Must Be Ready To Fail.

Do not quit easily from a pursuit you have carefully thought  about before embarking on. You must be ready to fail if you desire to succeed for those who fear failure will never know success. This is because success is a product of risk. Many have never in their lives succeeded significantly in any area because they would not want to fail. I would rather fail ten times and succeed once than to remain on the same spot for fear of failure.

From my experience and from the experiences of others, I have discovered that people do not remember your failure anymore when you eventually succeed.  The chance to succeed or fail in life is 50/50. No matter how much you plan and no matter how careful you are when you embark on a thing, there are bound to be some challenges along the way. There are situations and circumstances that will develop later which you did not forsee the onset.

Every celebrated achievement has the other side but when success comes, failure is relegated to the backgroung. Read the biographies of great men and women in life, you will find out that the two(failure and success) always go hand in hand.

Risk taking is crucial in success. If you are the type that is risk averse, you will become a risk yourself because there is  no guaranteed success on any voyage. Every journey of life is a risk, those who eventually  succeed are the ones called champions or celebrities.

No matter what, failure can never be final. It  only means you should do it again in another way.  AS you turn it around again and again, things would change for better.

How To Turn Your Mistakes To Your Advantage

Are you depressed because of the mistakes you have made in the past.I want you to know that you can’t seize your future while you’re obsessing over your past.Nobody starts out being good at everything.Tackling new ventures usually means learning by trial and error. It is not wrong to make a mistake in life. When you run away from mistakes you are simply making a mistake.Mistake is the path-way to perfection and is a way of living.Mistakes happen! Not only do they happen, they are quaranteed to happen. The only way you won’t make mistakes is if you don’t do anything and that itself is a mistake.Too many people are afraid to try something new because they feel they might make mistakes. They are both right and wrong.Yes,they will probably make mistakes but it is good to understand that errors are the raw materials for heroes. You never accomplish great or worth while things without risk and risk generally means great mistake potential.

To turn your mistakes to your advantage:

1)Admit your mistakes.Why don’t we?

a)Pride:we’ve an image to uphold.

b)Insecurity:ourself-worth is based on our performance.

c)Stubborness:we’d rather flog a dead horse than bury it.

2)Accept mistakes as the price of progress.Learn to view failure as a healthy, inevitable part of succeeding.Nothing is perfect in life.

3)Insist on learning from your mistakes.when you try to avoid failure at all cost. You never learn and you end up repeating the same mistakes.

The way to avoid mistakes is experience. The way to get experience is by mistakes.Don;t feel bad because you messed up with something in your past. All great people did. While one person hesitates because he feels inferior another is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.(Henry C.Link).

How To Help Your Child Overcome Depression

Depression is an elusive illness that affects the young today. There has been cases of children who thought killing themselves is the best solution to get out of depression.. Statistics have shown that four out of every 100 teenagers experience some sort of serious depression each year. Parents whose children are experiencing depression have a role to play in helping their children to get out of this mental illness. To help you your child overcome depression, make him or her feel loved and accepted.

One of the difficult things children must deal with are the lies that come into their minds masquerading as truth:I’m not loved,’I’m not accepted.’ I’m not appreciated’ I’m not attractive’, I’m not good enough, I’m too fat, “too thin’ ‘too tall”. “too short”, “too dumb,” ‘too smart”, “too everything” These lies escalate as children move into their teenage years and often are carried into adulthood..

You need to respond with love, kindness and support if your child is experiencing depression. The opposite of being loved and accepted is being rejected-something we’ve all experienced at one time or the other in our lives.Who among us has never felt embarrassment, humiliation, failure, fault, or someone disapproival over something we’ve done? Wether it be by a family member, a friend, or a complete stranger, rejection happens to all of us.

Some people can let such incident roll-off their backs, because they know, deep within,  that they are accepted.others,  however, may bear deep emotional wounds from incident after incident of rejection, so any perceived lack of acceptance can transform their personalities into something ugly.

That’s why rejection is at the root of so much of the evil we read about in the news papers every day. A rejected worker goes back to his former place of employment and shoots his boss and co-workers. A rejected husband beats or kills his wife.  A mother whio has been rejected by others abuses her child.  Rejection brings out the worst in people, love and acceptance bring out the best.
