How To Overcome Fear Of Failure

There are no risk- free plans in life. Life is all about risks. Risks are challenges to meet, not excuses for quiting. The fear of failure is one of the things that stop people from taking risks. To make progress in life fear must be  overcome. Rather than allowing fear to stop you, let it be your motivation for adequate preparation for success. History reveals that all successful athletes channel the fear of losing into their preparation for victory.

Robert Schuller wrote, The losers are those who never dared to try because they were afraid they wouldn’t make it. Most people fail because they haven’t tried. And they haven’t tried because they don’t want to run the risk of being disappointed. Those who try have already succeeded in a very important area of life, for they have conquered the fear of failure. No risks, no reward. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. The security of the shore is not what a ship is built for. A  ship is built for the risk of the deep.

Fear cripples. You cannot afford to be cripple in life. Playing safe could be dangerous, you will do things wrong many times before you learn to do them right. But if you let that stop you, you’ll never do anything significant in life.  When you make mistakes, you should learn from your mistakes and forge ahead.  The more mistakes you make, the more you learn, the more you learn, the more you earn. Such is life.

Setbacks Are Normal Occurrences In Life’s Pursuits.

Setbacks are normal occurrences in life’s pursuits. They shouldn’t grind you to a halt. Zane Grey wrote, ‘These are the tests of greatness to bear up under loss, to fight the bitterness of defeat and the weakness of grief, to be a victor over anger, to smile when tears are close, to  resist disease and evil men and base instints, to hate hate and to love love, to go on when it would seem good to die, to seek ever the glory and the dream, to look up with unquenchable faith to something even more about to be. These things any can do to be great’.

One of the greatest human qualities is that of becoming unstoppable! How do you become unstoppable? Simply by refusing to quit, no matter what happens. The ideas is to resolve to turn every stumbling block into a stepping stone. Abraham Lincoln said, ‘Success is going from failure to failure, without losing your enthusiasm.’

Lincoln’s life exemplifies this great principle. He went from failure to failure, yet he refused to lose his enthusiasism until he finally won. He failed in business in 1831; lost a legislative election in 1832; lost his wife in 1835; suffered a nervous breakdown in 1836; and was defeated in two other elections in 1838 and 1840. In 1843 and 1848, Lincoln failed to win a slot in congress. He lost another election into the senate in 1850. In 1856, he lost the election that would made him the vice president of the United States.

Inspite of all these, Abraham Lincoln still was undaunted and unperturbed. He kept up his enthusiasism and kept on fighting. He contested eletion for presidency of the United States in 1860 and won. He became one of the best Presidents  America ever had. Marva Collins said, Determination and perseverance move the world; thinking that someone else will do it for you is a sure way to fail

To succeed in life, once you have started from the scratch, you must keep on scratching, no matter what. Don’t ever give up or stop.

Doing The Right Thing The Wrong Way Will Still Lead To Problems.

Problems of life are everywhere, but  nobody loves to have them because they are like the traffic hold up on the highway, they delay ones arrival at destiny. Many do not love or pray for problems, yet they sticks to people’s lives like postage stamp does to the envelopes. Problems are destiny destroyers and progress aborters. Some people’s lives have been enjoyable and fullfiling before problems set in. Many businesses were thriving but suddenly problems cropped up and the story changed. Same thing for many marriages. They were in their honeymoon before problem like an eclipse covered up their moonlight.

There are two sources of problems: Problems from within and also from without. Many people are the architects of their own misfortune, they caused them. They opened their eyes and walked into open traps. They took wrong decisions based on wrong information or assumption and that was how problems came. On the other   hand, there  are externally contrived problems people do create for others. In order to avoid or minimize problems in life, make sure you do only what is right. There are two sides to every issue on earth: right and wrong.

You may be on the right track but if you choose a wrong way to accomplish your purpose, you will still have problems. Do not always love to cut corners or disobey the laws. When you know a thing is wrong , no matter how tempted you are, avoid it, for wrong doings attract problems

If Anything Wants To Tamper With Your Destiny, Fight It

Fight alcohol, fight that urge for tobacco, fight bad temper and fight that evil habit in you. If you do not, it can delay your emergence or utterly cut you short in life.  The conscience of a man is the referee of his life. It blows foul  each time there is an infringement. This is the creator’s device to enable each of us put our lives under control. For instance, every corrupt person taking or offering bribe knows that God and man hate lies.

Every cheat is aware that it is not the right thing to do, every smoker also knows that smoking is dangerous to health. So is every drunkard, criminal, prostitute. The problem with man’s conscience is that it can be silenced and muffled. Many have silenced their conscience and so live as if they have none. Others compromised the truth they once knew and cherished just because others are doing the same. To them, it is if you cannot beat them, join them. So, know that what is wrong is wrong no matter who is doing it or how many people are involved. Majority is not necessarily right.

To  fight whatever wants to tamper with your life; you must be determined. Subdue that enemy: be it human or habit. Do not permit it/him, for whatever you permit stays and whatever you reject goes.
