Depression And Suicide

Depression can be one of the most debilitating disorders that there is because it alters both your mental and physical state as well as your life. You may even find that if you are around people who have never suffered from depression they may be telling you to simply get over it.

Unfortunately it is not that easy and people who battle with depression understand how challenging it can be to carry on with even the simplest of daily life activities.

No one is safe from being affected by depression because it affects everyone. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a male or female, rich or poor, educated or uneducated. Once a person starts becoming depressed, he or she usually behaves in a manner that intensifies the illness.

The pain of depression is so awful that some just want to be relieved of the pain and want that so bad that they begin thinking and feeling suicidal. Think different. Yes, I said think different.

Put different thoughts in your head. Know and remind yourself that it is not life that you truly want to leave but it is the pain that you want to leave. So keep that in mind.

If you are feeling suicidal, I think the best thing you can do is to call a suicide hotline in your country.

Omega-3 And Depression

There are different natural and herbal remedies used for depression. Omega-3 fatty acids is one of the  supplements a depressed person can take to get out of depression. Omega-3 fatty acids are a type of good fat needed for normal brain function. Our bodies can't make omega-3s on their own, so we must obtain them through our diet.

Studies have linked depression with low dietary intake of omega-3 fatty acids. It is believed  that omega-3's together with antidepressants may be more effective than antidepressants alone.

Studies also suggests that omega-3 fatty acids may ease mood changes and may be helpful in treating stress and depression.

According to the American Psychiatry Association, studies show deficits in omega-3 fatty acids have been identified as a contributing factor to mood disorders such as stress and offer a potential rational treatment approach.

Cold water fish such as salmon, sardines, and anchovies are the richest food source of omega-3 fatty acids.

Omega-3 can help brain disorder for people with diabetes. Eating a diet rich in DHA omega-3 fatty acid may slow or even prevent Alzheimer’s disease

Omega-3 could help protect the brain against Parkinson's disease. Studies suggests that DHA deficiency is a risk factor for developing Parkinson's disease and Omega-3 could help protect againt Parkinson’s disease.

Omega-3 might be the key to healthier skin, hair and nail. Add Omega-3s to your physician’s recommended daily nutrition, exercise, and medication program to help keep your skin, hair and nails looking, and feeling great.

Overcoming Depression With Medication

There are different types of depression medications (antidepressants) used to treat depression and conditions that have depression. These drugs improve symptoms of depression by increasing the availability of certain brain chemicals called neurotransmitters. They can help lift your mood and ease the sadness and hopelessness you feel.

All antidepressants are prescription drugs. This means that you cannot buy them over the counter.

Taking a decision on the type of depression anxiety medication to take would depend largely on the balance between its pros and cons. What this means is that you have to study the possible effects (both positive and negative) of each drug before making the decision to take it.

If you are deciding on prescription medications, your doctor will advise before making any decisions.

Depression-The Most Treatable Emotional Problem.

Depression or prolonged sadness is actually quite common in the United States, around 9.5 percent of the American population actually suffer from this illness, however, not all of them get to be treated, thus, depression and its ill-effects continue to be a burden to some individuals.

This illness may seem quite simple to treat but in reality, it takes more than a little cheering up to actually cure depression.

Always feeling under the weather? Always not in the mood to be around others and have a good time? If you’re suffering from prolonged sadness for quite some time now, you should face these bouts of depression and get yourself diagnosed by a psychiatrist, they’re doctors who can actually help you out with your problem.

Depression oftentimes can easily get in the way of an individual’s daily activities and his or her’s normal functions, one’s zest for life can quickly and easily dissipate due to depression.

And in place of an individual’s sunny disposition is more or less a person who hates his or herself, having no self-confidence, trying to isolate one’s self from the world and basically just not caring about living any more.

More so, a person suffering from depression isn’t the only one who’s going to suffer from this destructive illness, his or her loved ones are sure to follow suit.

Constant visits to a cognitive behavior therapist is a must as well as taking all the prescribed medicines that the doctor will ask the patient to take.

Depression shouldn’t be something that people should be afraid of, instead, people should just start taking charge of their lives and actually face this illness and fight it.

Life is too beautiful a gift to waste and if one will spend the majority of his or her life just moping around about every single little thing then what kind of life would that be?

Depression may not kill one’s body but it’ll certainly kills one’s spirit if you’ll let it. Don’t be a victim.
